The Belgian Youth Diplomacy Board
Have you ever wanted to be part of a dynamic organization? To organize conferences, debates, visits of public institutions, and much more? Well, Belgian Youth Diplomacy is the right place for you.
As a Communication officer/Webmaster, you will be responsible for the overall communication of the organization.
More particularly, your job will consist in helping managing the official website (both content & format) ; updating the website with new events organized by BYD and partner organizations ; writing a short feedback after the BYD events and managing written articles of (non-) members.
You will also contribute to the management of our social media accounts by updating the Facebook page and of the Twitter account of BYD on a regular basis with our activities and similar interesting think tank events organized in Brussels or/and around Belgium.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, fluency in French or Dutch. Other EU languages is an asset
- Affinity with WordPress as well as with social media channels like Facebook and Twitter
- Flair for communication, branding, marketing and design; in particular you should be able to have an attention for details
- Experience in communication is not necessary, but would be seen as an advantage
- Ability to work under pressure, to manage competing priorities and to maintain a professional approach
- Higher Education preferred (in progress or graduated) and being passionate about International Relations and Diplomacy
- A small and dynamic team with complementary profiles
- A network of professional contacts
- Development of your skills within the field of International Relations, Political Science and Communications
- Note that this is an UNPAID position & NO Internship.

Visit to the Embassy of Lebanon
BYD is proud to invite your to a visit to the Embassy of Lebanon in Brussels. The ongoing war in Syria has forced more than 4 million refugees to flee Syria and seek shelter in neighbouring countries and beyond. According to the UNHCR, there is an estimated 1.3 million Syrian refugees in Lebanon, many of whom living in precarious conditions. This situation poses great challenges for the Lebanese governement as well as the internationl community. Here is your chance to meet with a high representative from Lebanon and learn more about the refugee crisis and the Lebanese current situation.
The visit will last from 17:00 until 19:00.

Brussels Model European Union is organising a five days simulation! You will experience the work of a EU policymaker where your negotiations skills will be tested. Stepping into Policy makers shoes will give you a totally different perspective of the politics and diplomacy. You will debate, convince and bring forward new solutions.
Participation in Brussels MEU will be held from 16th to 21th of March at the Committee of Regions. The first edition of Brussels Model United Nations will be held in March 2015, at the Committee of the Regions (CoR) in Brussels; heart of Europe, capital of European institutions and the hub of the EU legislation-making process. Brussels Model United Nations (MUN) is a three days conference that will push more than 400 students to develop their social skills and to engage themselves in their own education. The main idea of a MUN is finding a compromise. Young people from different backgrounds, have to come together and represent countries different from their own nationality in order to draft and vote on a resolution.
