After that many civilians protested against this deal Belgian Youth Diplomacy is offering this autumn/winter two seminars on CETA with two perspectives, the first with a European perspective and the second with an international expertise.
BYD is pleased to invite you to our first event this autumn: two seminars discussing the topic of the CETA agreement. As for the second event we will soon send you an email with all the information.
The CETA Agreement is the biggest bilateral initiative since NAFTA between the EU and Canada. Both have a long history of economic cooperation. However, this deal has been raising doubts among the civil society, trade unions and especially in Wallonia.
We are offering the opportunity to meet the Commissioner Cecilia MALMSTRÖM who is responsible for the Trade agreements between the EU and other stakeholders. She will give us explanations about how EU conducts trade agreements, especially how the CETA one was negotiated. At this occasion the Commissioner will bring her expertise and will answer all our questions concerning the CETA deal.
This is the opportunity to have a closer look to the European work and the challenges that the Commission has to face.
The seminar will take place on the 1st of December at the European Commission at 4 p.m.
The address is the following: Rue de la Loi, 200 (Berlaymont entrance).
The entrance is free for members. For non-members, it will cost 5€.
