Our world, our Dignity, our Future. The post-2015 agenda and the role of youth – Wednesday 27th May 2015


2015 is the European Year for Development, the first ever European Year to deal with the European Union’s external action and Europe’s role in the world. The needs and priorities of young people are central to the future development agenda and its implementation. They are not only recipients, but also the future leaders, and participants, in development.

Belgian Youth Diplomacy has received the invitation to sent a delegation of young people to attend the event “Our world, our Dignity, our Future. The post-2015 agenda and the role of youth” that will take place on Wednesday 27th May, from 16:00 to 18:00, at the Palais de Beaux-Arts (BOZAR) in Brussels.

The event will tackle the central role of young people to the future post 2015 development agenda and implementation. 2015 is the European Year for Development and young people should play an important role in it, helping shaping the new development agenda.

The United Nations Secretary General, Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, will be the special guest of this event. The event will feature an interactive debate between the UN Secretary General and designed Youth Ambassadors, and will be broadcast in selected schools across the European Union.

During this event, a group of young people, will get the chance to ask the Secretary General their most pressing questions on development, and the post 2015 agenda.
